God Waits Patiently For Us

 January 31, 2025

Verse of the day - Luke 15:32 (NRSV)

But we had to celebrate and rejoice, because this brother of yours was dead and has come to life; he was lost and has been found.

In chapter 2 of my fourth book, Jesus speaks to us about the prodigal son.

Excerpt from Called By God

The prodigal son lost his way in life when he commanded his father to give him his share of the inheritance.  Even though the son took his share of the money and did with it as he pleased, the father patiently waited for his return.  Upon the return of his son, the father was filled with joy.  In the same way, I too am filled with joy when one of My dear children returns to Me with their whole heart.  I will never force My dear children to do anything, but I wait patiently for their return.  Everyone strays from Me sometime during their life.  Have no fear My dear little ones.  Even if you abandon Me during your life, I will never abandon you.  I wait quietly for you to return to Me.  Many are the blessings for those who follow Me.  If My dear children stray away from Me during their life, I will patiently wait for their return and bless them abundantly when they do return to Me.

Sometimes during life, we drift off and go our own way.  We may believe that we can make it through life on our own without the help, guidance, and love of Jesus.  Even if we do this, Jesus will never abandon us.  In the parable of the prodigal son, the father represents Jesus.  Jesus waits patiently for us to return to Him, then welcomes us back with open arms.  Let us run to the loving arms of Jesus!  God's love will never fail us.
