Verse of the day - John 16:33 (NRSV)
I have said this to you, so that in me you may have peace. In the world you face persecution. But take courage; I have conquered the world!
In chapter 3 of my second book, Jesus speaks to us about what it is like to become a disciple.
Excerpt from Come Back To Me
Becoming a disciple of mine is never easy work. You will have people come against you and curse you because of Me. Do not let this discourage you from doing the work I have for you. I will always be with you, guiding you along the paths you are to take. Many times, you will be tempted to drift away from the task I have placed before you. Be not afraid of doing what I ask. You have been placed on this earth for a reason. When you drift away from Me, pray, and ask for strength to return to Me with your whole heart.
We should never be afraid to speak up on behalf of Jesus. He will guide us every step of the way. Back in the time of Jesus, the twelve disciples were ordinary people chosen by Jesus, Himself, to carry on His work after He went to the cross and died for our sins. They had three years of training before they were on their own. They too, had many doubts and fears about doing the work of Jesus. It is normal for us to have fears of doing what we have been called to do by God.
