Verse of the day - Matthew 27:46 (NRSV)
And about three o'clock Jesus cried with a loud voice, 'Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?' that is, 'My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?'
In chapter 1 of my third book, Jesus speaks to us about His Crucifixion.
Excerpt from Come To The Cross
While I was on the cross dying for the sins of the world, I cried out to My Father in Heaven. I did the Will of My Father in Heaven to save My dear children from the sins of the world. I was the spotless Lamb who was crucified for the sake of mankind. Before I went to the cross and died, My dear children would bring sacrifices before the altar. It was required of them to shed the blood of bulls and goats. Through this sacrifice and through prayer, the sins of My dear children were forgiven. Even though their sins were forgiven, I came to this earth as a human sacrifice. Sin entered the world through Adam and Eve. I came so all may have true redemption from their sins. Come to the cross and believe in Me so that you may be saved from final condemnation.
Let us all come before the cross and receive God's great love and mercy. Jesus poured out His very own Blood on the cross for us so that we may come before Him and be saved from our sins. His love endures forever. To God be the Glory! Thanks be to God for sacrificing Himself unselfishly so that we may live forever in Heaven with Him. What a day of rejoicing that will be!
